Etude House: Play 101 Pencils

Hello,

Today, I would like to share swatches for some Play 101 pencils that I owned.

When the play 101 pencil line was first launched, I was so stoked and can't wait to lay hands on them.

I first purchased #1 which is a pure black and #49 which is a dark brown.

As a single eye + hooded lid human being, I have high requirements for eyeliner. They need to be rub resistant and waterproof.

#1 and #49 managed to live up to that and I was blown away. Downwards spiral for my wallet and *bam* I started to buy more and more and more.

I saw videos of Pony (beauty YouTuber) using them as eyeshadows. To be honest, it's really difficult cos these pencils dries up so fast. When you try to blend them out, it's such a chore and I am worried about all that tugging.

Tried using them on my lips too and they are v drying. So I don't encourage that too.

Also note that, different pencil has different consistency.

#13,#19,#20,#36,#47: Creamy, smooth texture

#1,#2,#4,#5,#6,#14,#49: Started out as smooth texture but as time past, they get less creamy and more dry.

I suggest for staple colour like black or brown, just buy 1 and use them up before getting another. Cos mine is slightly dry now, drawing a simple liner will be reaching "a tug o war stage" soon.

The play 101 pencil line is affordable and of great quality. Their colour range is getting bigger as well.

Definitely, worth a try!

P.S: I had introduced this pencil to my friends and they love it. But, please note that once they dried up, it's hard to spread/draw.
